This planter speeds up bulb planting

wrote ():

Bulb planting was faster with this tool than others I have used. The steel is of fairly heavy gauge, but not as strong as I would like. However the plug pusher arrangement is so useful that I am purchasing a second planter in case the first one breaks. In the one time I have used it, I planted 200 bulbs in 2 to 3 hours. This will depend greatly on your soil. I was planting through grass or ivy with soft sandy soil. laced with a myriad of small roots A spade (or the planter) can be pushed into the soil 4 to 6 inches with the pressure of one foot or sometimes by jumping on it with both feet to get through the stems and roots. It was often too difficult to push the plug out with the hand knob, so I always used the foot tab about 6 inches up. It would be better for this tab to be a little longer, but my foot rarely slipped off it. For this to be useful, your soil needs to be sufficiently sticky for the plug to stay intact. There is no indication that the planter will not last for 1000 bulbs or more but even if it breaks on the next bulb, the cost per bulb for the 200 planted so far is about 17 cents per bulb. This is less than the cost of the bulbs and therefore acceptable.

Great bulb planter

This worked great for planting our seedlings in our garden. My husband loves it. He said the only thing he would change should be the length of the foot push for discharging the soil plug.

Shocked and Surprised

When I received this tool I was shocked and surprised at the good quality of the tool. I will be using it to keep my sprinkler heads clear of dirt and grass. I will not be planting bulbs but I have found that a bulb planter is great for keeping sprinkler heads clear of obstructions. This model having a 36 inch handle is perfect for the job. I have never heard of your company but I will say that you make a good product.
