I love my little orange scooter and haven't had as much time to use it so far as I would like because of all the rain we have had. I have two artifical hips and need help to get down to my garden weeds etc. This is the answer and it also has a place for my tools.
seat is too high. it is well made and may work well with chores that aren't at ground level. so far both my husband and i have tried it in the garden and until we "revamp" the seat - it now just sits. the tray under the seat needs to be down between the wheels and the rack holding the seat should be lower where the seat bottom is at the top of the wheels.
Easy to assemble; sturdy; works great for my 82 year old Mother In Law
Easy to assemble, if you have plenty of tools not listed as required. See http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimcashman/sets/72157626556783529/ for my pictures of Assembling and using the Scooter Garden Cart. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimcashman/5730190888/in/set-72157626741631658/ is a picture of using the scoot for planting larger bare root bushes. You can haul 2 large pots for planting by using a bunji cord to hold one on top of the little basket, and put a second one on the seat. Works great. Can not easily scoot on rough ground, but I was planting bushes 5' apart, so just pulled from spot to spot. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=235195569828208&set=a.230772116937220.75873.100000132993068&type=1&theater shows a more conventional usage with plants in the little basket, planting soil (my own mix) in the bucket (on the seat for transport) and tools in the tray (which need a couple of holes drilled in the bottom to prevent collection of water in the tray). Overall a very usable scoot and a good value
This item was returned as it was too difficult to maneuver in rough garden terrain. Even though it was sturdily built my wife had to get up and move it to another spot. It gave her a workout just to use it. Maybe she needs a motorized one!
