We use round point shovels to dig holes to plant trees in hard, rocky soil. We have broken several, including one with an "unbreakable" handle! This shovel is holding up very well. And, since it is an A.M. Leonard, it is guaranteed if it should ever fail.
Live in N Ca. Ground is mostly clay and like concrete this time of year. You do more 'prying' than digging. Had this shovel for 3 mo and have relentlessly beat the crap out of it. Seems I dont know how many other shovels fold in half this time of year. Not this one. Good tool at good price.
Our company bought several of these shovels. We haven't used them a lot yet, but so far they work as well as we hoped. We have very heavy clay soil and breaking a shovel handle is not uncommon, but these shovels are doing fine.
