The sheath goes nicely on the belt and keeps the soil knife handy when you are working in the garden. Made from quality materials. Should last a long time. This and the soil knife make a great gift idea for gardeners.
The soil knife is a great product. Anyone who spends time in the yard/garden should have one. It's the best weeding tool I have used. The serrated edge is perfect for loosening compact/girdling roots from plants that have been in a container before planting. The sharp hook for cutting string or twine works great also.
My new leather sheath is helping me keep my favorite garden tool at my side. I love that it is leather and made in the U.S.A. My favorite feature is the clip that attaches to my pants or jacket pocket. I am happier gardener since my sheath and knife arrived.
We like the soil knives very much and the best way to carry them is in the leather sheaths. I like the metal belt clip very much because slipping my belt through the slots is annoying and takes more time.
It comes in very handy for the Soil Knife. Makes it handy when planting and don't need it all the time but still stay within arms reach. Makes it safer than keeping the soil knife lay in the grass when it's not in use. Very very useful.
A friend recommended the tool. I use it now all time in the garden. It's well made, sharp, and I keep discovering additional uses for it. The sheath is important-keeps it clean, safe, I don't forget where it is and no one else can "borrow it" without me knowing who has it.
I bought the sheath to safely transport and store the soil knife. It is attractive and functional. It is a little stiff but is brand new. The sheath easily transports the soil knife on a belt. The soil knive is so sharp, that I wanted to be sure it was safe when not in use. The knive nicely slides into the sheath. I have been pleased with this product and recommend it.
This sheath is perfect for keeping me safe and my awesome knife from getting ruined. It stays clipped to my pants and is always there as a reminder that I need to bring the knife inside! Too many lost tools after a long hard day outside.
Strong, fits well, good price.
It clips easily to a belt. Stays clipped. And is built with durability to last for years.
Securely holds garden knife and adjusts quickly as I change from standing to kneeling, once I adjusted to hold to shear knife it was a breeze.
This leather sheath came with the soil knife I ordered. It has both a metal clip to clip to your waistband, as well as slits for sliding it onto your belt for more serious gardening. It holds the soil knife well, making it ready for all those gardening chores requiring it. I had never used a soil knife before, but, am finding it useful almost every day in the garden.
Solid, well built, easy to use. My workers lose less knives this way.
Of course it holds the Soil Knife, so you put it in the sheath and don't loose it. Also, it works as a carrier for grass clippers, so they are handy when you are tidying up the garden.
The sheath is a very handy tool as it gives my guys a place to store their soil knifes. It is sturdy and looks like it will serve us well for several years.
Thought I did not need the sheath for the soil knife. I was wrong. It stores better and is much safer when the grandkids try to help. I love the multi-purpose soil knife and the safety of the sheath. Could have saved some money ordering them together!
I am a small person but round, As a result I don't wear my sheaths on a belt and on my hips by way of the pockets of my pants. When I return my knife to the sheath often the leather just above the clip and belt feeds gets caught on the knife handle this has bent and curled the leather and has become annoying.
Extremely satisfied with both the Soil Knife and the Leather Sheath. Both made with quality material and and well constructed. The sheath stores and protects the knife when not in use.
A wonderfully versatile tool. I got one for Christmas and liked it so much I bought 2 more for gifts. Good for planting, great for weeding. I don't us the sheath as much but my son likes it.
The soil knife is very well made and a extremely useful garden tool, the leather sheath is of the same high quality. The main problem with this item is the protective cardboard sleave on the knife, which is very difficult to remove, use extreme care for the knife is very sharp! This my only complainant.
Using this sheath keeps me safe. The knife is belted to me securely and comfortably--and I am not tempted to just leave the knife on the ground and lose the knife my husband bought me for my birthday. Well-made product. Sturdy. Easy to wipe clean. Made in USA!
Sheath would be better if made from a material that repeled dirt. The leather while strong gets dirty very quickly and there is no good way to keep it clean. Perhaps if there was a different finish on the leather?
The leather sheath was highly recommended to me when I bought the knife and I'm so glad. The knife slides in easily and the sheath is so easy to use as it can clip on my waits or my belt can slide through it. Also clips on my gardening bucket liner so i can find it easily.
I use the soil knife all the time and don't know how I got along without it for years! However, I find the sheath too stiff, heavy and unwieldy. The metal clip is so heavy that it's impossible to clip it onto anything. Mine hangs sadly on the tool rack in my garden shed, looking pristine and never used.
The leather sheath is a must have to go along with the soil knife. Everytime I go outside the sheath is on my belt with soil knife. Im going to have a yard sale with all the tools I bought before the soil knife and sheath
I couldn't wait to receive my order and am very pleased with the product, service and delivery.
As a Landscaper I wanted an all around tool to use for planting, weeding and minor excavating such as installing outdoor lighting and even irrigation repairs. I found it in this tool. Home owners go for the Gimmicks and usually get a worthless piece of hardware. As a hard working professional I go for the tools to increase productivity and I needed a tool to depend on. This is no Gimmick, a nice addition to my tool box.
This sheath is very comfortable to wear with the soil kniife in it. It is a great way to keep the tool one uses more at their side. A must for anyone using the soil knife.
Bought this item to carry my soil knife. It is very well made and crafted from heavy leather. I did find it a little tricky to continually bend and stand with this on my belt because its so stiff. Overall it serves it purpose well.
What can I say, a well built knife sheath, no more no less.
This is a well made product. When not in use I put my soil knife in it. It fits snugly yet with ease of removal. It keeps the knife safely away from being handled by small children in between uses.
I am extremely happy with the craftsmanship and overall great looks of my knife sheath.
I use this tool for everything. Digging up plants, dividing plants, digging the hole for new plants. It goes through everything. It is always with me when I garden.
Having cut myself a few times on the sharply serrated blade of A.M. Leonard's top-notch soil knife, I am pleased to have an equally excellent sheath between my wayward flesh and the blade's biting edge. I use the knife and sheath combo at work and at home, and am very happy with the ease of insertion and extraction the sheath offers for the knife, as well as the sturdiness of its rivet-reinforced stitching and secure belt clip. When I wear the sheath, I never lose the knife. At work, I've even seen soil knives with their tips and edges incredibly worn from years of heavy digging -- but the sheaths always look ready for more.
Bought as a gift for a gardening friend. Mine is so very useful, everyone should have one. Strong, comfy handle, depth markings, rust-free(mine so far) and a perfectly matched belt sheath. Could't possibly be better, unless of course it was free!
I can't say enough good things about this sheath and soil knife. I clip the sheath on to my trug tub so it's always with me. When I empty the trug, it stays in place! The soil knife is a must-have tool for every gardener. I use it for weeding saplings and hard-to-pull weeds. No need to grab a spade with this handy tool!. I found it especially useful when I wanted to thin-out vinca vine and plant it in a new bed. The knife cut through the vine and was useful for getting underneath the roots. Then I used it to dig the hole for the "transplant" in the new location!. When the vinca or other groundcover gets out of control, I use the serrated edge to trim it. Truly indispensable and a great gift for any serious gardener!
Well made tool. Great for planting potted flowers. Would highly recommend. Every gardener should own this tool.
I bought three Leonard Leather Sheaths, one for me and two for Mothers Day gifts along with three deluxe soil knives. The sheath is a USA made quality product and certainly a great complement to the soil knife. My gifts got rave reviews from my daughters-in-law. Now my brother wants one too.
I bought the knife for myself and one for my brother, and we got a special that included the sheath for free. The sheath protects the knife well. and it has the added benefit of ensuring I can find the knife when I put it away. My brother, who is a professional horticulturist, loves his, and is amazed how often he uses it. He says he carries it with him whenever he goes out to work. A bit surprising how many uses you can put the knife to.
This tool and it's sheath meets and exceeds all expectations. It is ruggedly constructed and should last years.
This is the best tool I have ever owned. This is the second one that I have purchased. It is just great for weeding flower beds & the garden. When you slip that blade into the soil it loosens the roots without loosing the soil. This is the best tool for weeding.
I love this - handy to attach to your belt and keep the sharp edges contained until you need them! Highly recommend!
This is a winning pair. If you go out in the yard to work - strap your soil knife on because you will find that you can't live without having it at the ready. Both products are well made and do what they are designed to do.
Love the leather sheath for my soil knife. It is the best way to keep my knife with me in the garden.
I use this most often to slice and saw through thick clumps of vinca that extend onto a walkway. I like a neat edge and this does the job, but with considerable arm and hand effort. I do wish it were sharper, though then it might be dangerous! I appreciate the heavy blade that won't warp. It is also useful for dividing perennials. I used to cary a kitchen knife in my tool bucket, but now I use this. Would recommend.
THIS LEATHER HOLDER IS A MUST FOR THE KNIFE. I LIKE IT AND IT IS A GREAT SAFETY PRODUCT.
This sheath is a must have for this soil knife. The belt clip is very strong and the leather is very thick. This sheath should last forever !!!
I love this knife. I use it for everything and can't imagine how I ever did without it. As a serious gardener, I'm forever transplanting, weeding, dividing and trimming and this nifty knife does it all! So happy to have discovered it - it's all I really need. Thanks for a terrific tool!
This is a great sheath and soil knife combo. Arborist need a handy tool for diagnosing biotic tree disorders. Landscapers need this for planting and removing burlap and twine from the base of trees and shrubs.
It's great. digs out roots in our garden, like cutting through butter. very satisfied. thanks
I've had my sheath for 5 years now, I bought it with my original soil knife. It slips easily onto a belt which is how I usually carry it. The sheath is easy to slip my soil knife into and holds it securely. It has held up very well. I have since purchased several other sheath/knife sets as gifts and everyone who has received one has loved it.
I've used this sheath and the soil knife for years as a professional landscaper and now home gardener, I love the color the leather gets once it's broken in! I just got my husband one and it's so light (in color)! For simple functionality it is a fantastic addition to your gardening kit, I keep my pruners on one side, in their sheath and my soil knife on the other with this sheath. My primary tools are handy and the sheath has stood the test of time and a lot of use!
This does everything and is an easy to carry in the sheath. I have used it in my volunteer work at public gardens and now I have my own.
