Aluminum Knitted Shade fabric is a great alternative to traditional black-colored fabric because the silver color reflects light and heat (while black absorbs light and heat), resulting in a much cooler environment for the plants — and the Grower. And while the color black absorbs heat, it is also blocking/shading light. Aluminum fabric provides shade, but because the silver reflects light, you may end up with a greater PAR transmission while still accomplishing your desired shading and/or cooling effect. Another big benefit of the Aluminum Shade fabric is how much lighter it is than traditional shade fabric, which allows for extreme ease of installation.
Our knitted shade is constructed from high-density polyethylene for added strength and longer life and has fast become an economical alternative to woven fabrics. It is specially engineered to resist tears, mold, and mildew. Its finished edges on both outer sides require no tape or grommets. This fabric will not unravel when cut and is easily installed anywhere with Poly Clips.
