Reduces the need for watering!

Perlite is an OMRI-approved soil amendment. Each bag contains four cubic feet of perlite. Choose your desired particle grade below.

Perlite provides excellent aeration and drainage yet retains a substantial amount of water. As it begins to dry, it releases any stored water to your plants. This water retention ability also extends to nutrients when used with water-soluble fertilizers.

Use perlite by itself or for hydroponics systems, as part of any potting mix, or for sticking cuttings. It is also perfect for raised beds, rooftop gardening, lawns, seed starting, and container gardening. Lightweight perlite does not crush fine stems or root systems, making it great for growing delicate plants like lettuce or other leafy greens.

Perlite reduces the need for watering, saving you both time and money. As a chemically inert material, perlite will not deteriorate and has a nearly neutral pH. It is also sterile, ensuring it is free of disease, weed seeds, or insects. This bag fills approximately 64 one-gallon nursery pots.

Ginormous Perlite wrote

This perlite is much larger than the horticultural grade stuff. I add this to the soil mix I use for my fig trees and it does the job perfectly.
