Chapin engineers their Professional Salt Drop Spreader using all stainless-steel components. Its one-piece rolled edge design has no seams or welds. The hopper holds up to 200 pounds of material and contains two independent augers. You control the material spread using the separate left and right gate controls. Material flows through the discharge holes located behind the wheels. The Chapin Professional Salt Drop Spreader features a unique slit axle design. This design allows the chain-driven agitators to operate independently of one another. Chapin equipped this spreader with two 12-inch wide pneumatic tires. They also placed a third idler wheel in the middle of the backside of the spreader. Use the Chapin Professional Salt Drop Spreader to disperse rock salt or any other ice melt products. All stainless-steel components resist the corrosion caused by salt. A full 36-inch drop width allows you to cover more ground in a single pass. The third idler wheel makes the unit extremely easy to maneuver, even at maximum capacity! The design of the Chapin Professional Salt Drop Spreader makes it easier than ever to spread rock salt. When spreading salt, clumping can be a significant issue for standard spreaders. The independently-operated agitators easily break up these clumps. No clumping means an even spread throughout the job.
