woven weed barrier Richard Johnson from VA wrote February 27, 2019

Weed barrier is the way even for small gardeners to avoid the weekly chore of weeding around planted crops, especially tomatoes, peppers and eggplant. I lay this material down in the spring after tilling if tilling is needed). When the time comes for planting hot weather plants, I cut a simple cross, dig out the soil, added fertilizer if needed, and work the plant in. The material is permeable and allows water to reach the roots. This particular weed barrier has the added feature of woven yellow strips, making it much easier to align the product rows when installing the barrier. Lastly, due to spacing of the plants, I frequently have rows of barrier that are not pierced for plants. These rows can be rolled up in the autumn and re-used.

Using it to replace landscape fabric between rows of blackberries that had gotten old. Very easy to install and it's doing a good job.

I bought this product to lay between the rows in my vegetable garden as it stated "permeable to water and nutrients" The first time I watered the water flowed downhill like a stream. I hope in time it will let water through.
