General Purpose Base Blend: Engineered for professional growers, exceptional air porosity, balanced moisture retention, peat and perlite free, excellent drainage.
Base Blend Fine: 3/8" average in particle size, suitable for nursery, perennial, hemp, and greenhouse use (EC <1.0), available in 60 CU FT Tote (1,440 LB), fine loose fill.
Physical Properties:
- The blend creates a wettable mix that will always rewet no matter how dry.
- Stored blend in a bulk mix pile will not "shed" water as with a bark and peat mix pile.
- Coir is absorbent rather than adsorbent, offering ample water holding capacity and improved drainage to eliminate root disease and freeze damage.
Chemical Properties:
- The blend does not decompose readily, taking 16-24 months to begin decomposition once potted.
- Very stable chemically with a pH ranging from 5.5 to 6.5.
- Higher buffering capacity for adjusting water or nutrition balance.
- Higher Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) than bark with peat.
General Purpose Mix: Suitable for perennial, planter, mum, and HB production (EC <1.0).
