Harvest Right Freeze Dryer Kits provide you with everything you need to get started. They include the freeze dryer unit, vacuum pump, a vacuum tube, and power cord. The cord connects to a standard 110-volt outlet. The kits also include four trays, a door pad, an owner?s manual, a freeze-drying guide, 50 mylar bags, 50 oxygen absorbers, and a 12-inch sealer. Also included is a container of vacuum pump oil and an oil filter. Use your Harvest Right Freeze Dryer to preserve the healthy food that you love to eat. They are perfect for drying fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy products, and more. You can freeze-dry an entire meal, including dessert! The machine is simple to use. Just place your fresh or cooked foods into the dryer, press the start button, and wait. The dryer beeps when the freeze-drying process finishes. Harvest Right Freeze Dryers work by chilling foods to -40° F or lower. These frigid temperatures cause ice crystals to form. Once the food completely freezes, the dryer creates a powerful vacuum around it. As the food warms, the ice crystals change to water vapor and evaporate, drying the food. Once this process completes, seal the food in an airtight container (mylar bags, mason jars, or cans), add an oxygen absorber, and seal. Adding water to the food rehydrates it and makes it change back into its original form. These medium freeze-drying units freeze dry 7 to 10 pounds of food per batch.
