Strong vinegars are popular with many people as a weed control product. In that type of application, studies suggest that the vinegar strips the leaf coating, so that plants lose moisture and die. Most effective on warm, sunny days, most plants totally brown in 2 to 6 hours. Plants with thick waxy-coated skins may need a second application within 2 to 4 hours. In heat over 85F, or on tender vegetation, you can dilute 1 to 1 with water. Minimally effective against plants with large root systems such as: Bermuda grass, ivies, brush and trees. 1 gallon jug. Weed control not for use in lawns. Larger sizes available up to 55 gallons.

Non-toxic treatment with 20% acetic acid. (Standard shelf vinegars are typically 5.) Uses Yucca extract as a natural surfactant, to increase effectiveness Ready to use, convenient concentrate. Many uses as an acidifying agent. NOTE: Some catalogs may still show the Bradfield brand. That brand is no longer available and has been replaced but it is still 20% vinegar with yucca extract.

Phenomenal product I can use with with a conscience

Ken W from PA wrote (April 18, 2014):

This is a great product that allows me to kill weeds without harming the rest of the environment. Protect plants you don't want to kill, and this will do the trick on everything EXCEPT leafy weeds. I use it in shaded areas, under deck, mulched beds, you name it. Worth every $.

Horticultural Vinegar

Charlotte M from NC wrote (November 21, 2011):

This product is great for stone walks or stone areas around a garden. If applied during a sunny, non-windy day, it quickly clears the area of weeds without poisoning my raised bed garden. It is easy to apply with a small sprayer.

This one works!

J Green from OH wrote (November 20, 2011):

I have had moss growing on my roof for many years. Five or six years ago I spent the extra money for special shingles that were designed to stop its growth. It did NOT work. I have tried many other deterrents, but they too failed. I finally tried Bradfield's Horticultural Vinegar Acidifing Agent. Within several hours the moss turned brown and died. It is an excellent product.
