Problem with Hose Reel wrote

The hose connection is located outside of the reel and when you start reeling the hose onto the reel, the hose kinks 90 degrees or more and shuts off the water flow. I had to plumb the hose connection into the reel and turn is so the hose would lay flat against the center part of the reel and reel up correctly.

A.M. Leonard responds: Our merchandiser reached out to the customer to rectify the problem with hose reel.

Perfect hose reel for our needs to keep the hoses off of the greenhouse floor!

hose reel mount wrote

Have mixed animal veterinary clinic. Reels are dependable, don't leak, work well, and are fairly sturdy. Only wish they would not unreel so easily but love them. Have three in my large animal facility and may add more as the others wear out.

Love the reel, smooth, water tight. wrote

Love the reel, smooth, water tight. Works well in two places in my veterinary clinic and keeps the hoses out of our way. Only complaint is weight of hose may cause it to unroll so we hang the nozzle each time we use it or drape the hose over something higher than the reel.

Installed one week, one rainstorm, rusting already wrote

Have had three of these, none of which ran true when revolving. One had nearly a one inch wobble and I could see the fitting that serves as the hub welded at about a ten degree angle rather than perpendicular. That one went back. Why aren't the mounting holes on 16 in centers? I had to make adapters to attach them to a stud wall. Liberty's (the manufacturer) website says "... there is always the chance for rust developing over time." Over time???? How about one week installed, two uses and one over night rainstorm? There are four holes, probably for welding fixturing, open, unplugged all around both perimeters of the reel, and the hub is tack welded to the flanges, allowing water to get into and accumulate inside the raw steel hub interior. The result is rust bleeding all over everything after just one night in the rain. Two of the three units had the hose swivel water passage jam packed with teflon tape. I had to pick it out with tweezers. I have pictures of the above and would post them if I could. With care and detail in assembly welding; i.e., plug the holes in the rims and continuously weld the flanges to the hub, better fixturing and inspection, this could be a very nice hose reel, but as is, it is junk. Leonard is hurting their reputation for quality selling this junk that wouldn't last a year without being a mass of rust from the inside out.
