Rubber handle makes a HUGE difference. Used it for 4 seasons and still in great shape. I don't store it exposed to weather since it has rubber.

Bought as a gift wrote

I bought it for a neighbor to say thanks and return the favor. He is an avid landscaper and mentions how nice his shovel is at least once a week.

You Can't go Wrong wrote

I'm pretty new to gardening. Hell, I'm new to doing anything in the yard besides hiring someone else! But I jumped right in with some pretty serious landscaping. Although you could spend an incredible amount of money buying "things" as a neophyte, I was advised that one thing to invest it was a good nursery spade. After reading reviews, this is the one I chose. I'm completely satisfied--it has a sharp blade and good heft--a deal breaker when you're under 5 ft tall. I'm not going to muscle my way through anything. I need the tool to do the work and it does. Yet, its light. Something else kind of important when you're on the small side.
