Now featuring steel handles!

We design our wheelbarrows with you in mind! We loaded these wheelbarrows with features:

Design: The low-profile design provides increased stability, even with heavy loads on rutted surfaces. Wide carriage bolt heads and heavy-duty undercarriage offer enough support to handle loads weighing up to 500-pounds. The tough, 6-cubic-foot capacity steel tub provides many years of reliable service!

Steel Handles: We equipped this wheelbarrow with our NEW steel handles. We make these handles from 18-gauge galvanized steel tubes. We apply a black powder coat to the outside for added durability. We finish by capping them with injection-molded grips for increased comfort. For more information, click HERE.

Welded tray support: This wheelbarrow features our new and improved welded steel tray support. This welded, heavy-gauge steel support improves the strength and durability of this product. Please click HERE for more information.

This kit features an orange steel tray and pneumatic tires. These extra-wide 5-1/2-inch, 4-ply tire make this wheelbarrow sturdy yet maneuverable.

Holes mis-drilled. Shipping damage. Poor finish on metal handles. BL from MD wrote October 01, 2018

I've always liked A.M. Leonard's stuff - sturdy, solid, up for anything. Thought this wheelbarrow would be the same. Sadly, the holes in the handles are 1/4" - 3/8" off and don't line up. And it was so poorly packaged that the barrow finish is gouged down into bare metal from loose items bouncing around inside. And while the finish on most of the parts seems quite robust, the handles, shipped separately, have multiple chips in the paint upon arrival. It doesn't look like the paint bonded very well to the handles, just sort of flaked off. Maybe it's because the metal handles are a new product and they haven't worked the kinks out yet. I'm going to write customer service and see if there's a remedy, but order with caution for now.

A.M. Leonard responds:Customer was sent replacement handles and a credit for damage to the tray while in transit.

Wheelbarrow a Joy Gary Hauser, retired farm equipment dealer. from IA wrote June 19, 2018

I looked in box stores for a good wheelbarrow -- better than the two I have already, which are light weight, poorly balanced, have insubstantial handles, etc. That search was a waste of time; their offerings were clearly made for those who buy by price, ignoring quality. Fortunately, I found A. M. Leonard's web site and the specs for a wheelbarrow looked good, along with a general impression that they sell quality products. I was not disappointed. The small pieces were properly packaged; the fastener hardware was shrink-wrapped on a card, each set of bolts for a particular assembly step being clearly labeled. The setup instructions were clear, with good illustrations. I assembled it alone and got along fine, but at one point it would have been easier to have had a couple extra hands for a short while. In a couple places I added some flat washers, not included, under bolt heads to minimize crushing of the tubular steel handles, but that probably was not necessary, just a precaution. The components are robust and appear to be designed to distribute stress forces appropriately. I am pleased that it has a grease fitting on the wheel bearings. It is a quality unit and I am pleased to recommend it highly.
