We are grateful to have received many positive comments and strong sales over the past few years for our #A700 7in Folding Saw. This popularity has prompted us to develop a larger 9.5in saw with many of the great features carried over from the A700 Saw:
  • Slightly curved blade that cuts quickly.
  • Proper cut blade and grip angle to provide efficient cutting.
  • Soft over-molded grip that provides comfort and traction.
  • Taper ground blade construction that minimizes friction.
  • Tri-cut style teeth which provides aggressive cutting speed.
The 9.5in blade is designed with a slight curve and tri-edge teeth for pruning of all types. Extended handle can be used single handed or with two hands if necessary. Features a hard chrome plated blade for rust resistance.

High impact handle material is strong, resisting any breakage. Rubberized handle provides added grip and comfort. Dual action latch locks blade in open or closed position. Lifetime warranty.

Safety issues wrote

I have many A.M. Leonard tools in my shed and generally find them high quality. I decided to try this folding saw with the longer blade hoping to make spring pruning a little quicker. What I got was a blade that actually made the cutting more difficult. This blade is thin & flimsy. It buckles on the push. We all know to "cut with the pull" but this blade made it harder to push through on the return. I was concerned it might break. Furthermore, the blade doesn't fit completely into the handle when closed, leaving those sharp teeth exposed to chew on your fingers. I have the bandaged fingers to show for that. Not good enough for the price.

as advertised wrote

Nice simple saw for small limb/large shrub pruning. Cuts on the pull; handle fits two hands; nice folding and locking features. Blade is a little long if you have to get into very dense shrubs, but on the other hand long enough to cut bigger limbs. No complaints at all!

Thin Blade wrote

Liked the compact, fold-way design. However, the blade is real thin and can bind when cutting hardwoods. Best for pine and soft woods.

Small tool for big jobs wrote

The blade is very effective, the tool is easy to handle and manuever. It slides into your pocket for safe transport in close wooded areas. Concern: The tool arrived outside of its manufacturer packaging but safely within the shipping container. Not sure why? I volunteer in a Japanese garden at the U. of IL and it is perfect for small as well as more demanding cuts in confined quarters.
