A true classic for a reason!

The Leonard Classic Soil Knife gives you three landscaping tools in one. We equip this tool with a tapered six-inch stainless-steel blade. This blade features both a straight edge and a serrated edge. We design the one-piece molded composite handle with an extra-wide guard.

Use the Leonard Classic Soil Knife for nearly any digging, cutting, or sawing task. It excels at removing rocks, weeding, planting, dividing crowns, and cutting roots. The larger grip guard keeps your hand safe from the razor-sharp blade.

Best Hori Hori in the History of the Universe wrote

I had a Japanese-made hardened hori hori knife for 30 years. I left it out one night and it rusted, but as I kept using it the rust wore off. But as it aged, the handle dried and started to develop cracks, but I kept using it. Then I LOST IT!! I was bereft, because I used it every day all summer for 3 decades. I just couldn't manage without it, so I replaced it... with the stainless AM Leonard version with the orange handle. THE AM LEONARD ONE IS THE BOMB! It is as rigid and strong as the old hardened-steel Japanese one, but it doesn't rust, and the orange handle makes it next-to-impossible to lose. The shape of the handle is much more comfortable in the hand than my old one, because it has rounded edges that don't dig into your hand when you're weeding dandelions out of clay soil. Look forward to using this one for the next 30 years!

Safety and speed wrote

I have one and it is my favorite soil tool. You can dig into weeds deep and fast and safely. You cannot do this with your deluxe model. Another Master Gardener and our extension agent listened as I shared how I slit my left thumb twice. They admitted they had slit their thumb also so we did not recommend the deluxe model to the next class. I love the classic soil tool and have given 2 away so far as a gift, a lucky teenager and an adult. It doesn't bend when you hit rocks. Thank you for the classic. [A right handed person could use the deluxe for weeding if they put soil blade in left hand if able to work this way]

Stainless steel reduces clay - cling, and the handle does not slip in your hand.

Soil knife? My best garden friend from now on. Excellent multitasker. Super purchase. And I hardly ever write any reviews.
