I could barely cut a 3/4" branch and would not recommend this for regular cuts over 1/2". Needs longer handles or sharper blades or both.
I bought this pruner because it has two cutting surfaces. It cuts cleanly without mashing part of the stem and causing damage to the fresh grafts. It is the very best tool I have purchased since I bought my John Deere
I had been looking for something to cut the tops off my rootstock without damaging the cambium layer below and my Horticulture professor recommended these. They have helped to make cleft grafting of camellias much easier now that I don’t have to worry about damaging the cambium layer. I think that this tool is a very useful addition to a grafter’s toolbox.
