Leonard Forged Bypass Pruning Shear with Vinyl Grip

# A200
In Stock
12 @ $ 39.79
> 3 @ $ 34.65
Weight: 0.810000 lbs

Offers extreme durability because of its substantial forged construction.

The one-piece forged blade and handle design provides superior strength because there isn't any connections, pins or fasteners that may loosen or fail over time. The quality continues with the finely ground cutting blade and slant ground hook blade that delivers sharp, clean cuts. The hook blade sap groove improves cutting efficiency by keeping sap and debris away from the cutting edge.

We've updated the traditional pruner design by adding a vinyl covering which provides increased grip, insulation from the steel, and keeps the pruners visible if laid down on the job. 1" cutting capacity, 8-3/8" overall length.

Tricky cutting action / finger pinch

wrote ():

Love the clean cuts; AM Leonard products have never disappointed in the past. The issue you will get with these is a pinch when cutting smaller branches and when the blade snap through, the handle is tight enough where your fingers (if wrapped back around and inside the handle) could get pinched on the end metal clasp. Wife used it and it tore into her thumb. Yes, she should of been wearing gloves, but for a quick clip, we didn't expect it.

cuts well but dangerous

Item cuts well but how the bottom portion was not very smooth, it cut into the palm of my hand as I used it. I had to mend it by filing the sharp edges on the bottom of where the item locks/unlocks.

Wonderful pruner, with a serious design flaw

I love this forged pruner from AML. It has a classic looking, elegant design and a refreshing, solid weight to it, unlike most of today's cast aluminum pruners. I like the closing catch on the bottom of the handles because I can open and close the tool just by brushing it back or forth on my leg. The problem are the struts at the bottom of the handles that prevent the handles from closing entirely and crushing the user's hand. The struts themselves are located such that they caught the skin near the bottom of my hand the first time I squeezed the tool tightly to snap through a thicker stem. Wow, did that hurt! I am a landscaper and I've used many different pruners over the past 25 years, but I've never used one that crushed my own hand before! AML could move the stoppers toward the top of the handle where some other tools have them. I will relegate this tool to an extra.
