Use to be Better wrote

I have used these pruners for many years to harvest seed heads and for generally Nursery work. Recently though they changed the design, the thumb lock is now made of plastic instead of metal. We bought four of these 2 years ago for use at our nursery and the thumb locks are already worn out and won't stay closed... I have an old pair with the metal lock that is 8+ years old and still functions perfectly! It's to bad that they are cutting corners on the little things, otherwise these are an excellent product. I'd recommend going with the Felco harvest shears as these still have a metal lock (although I like the handles on these much better).

I bought them, forgetting I bought them last year, because of the serrated edge. Using them reminded me why I dislike them -- they stick, and have to be opened manually every time they are closed. They are sharp and an OK size but they will never wear out with me. At best a disappointing product.

Great little tool for lots of my garden work -- dead-heading, cutting back, etc. perennials and annuals and light woody plants. My favorite, and the serration is back.
