Designed for the toughest of jobs!

We equip this Leonard Round-Point Closed-Back Shovel with a tempered steel blade. We reinforce the blade by welding an additional steel ribbon to the back. This 14-gauge steel head measures 9-1/4 inches wide and 12 inches long and has a black surface coating.

This shovel has a 48-inch long straight hardwood handle. An extended 11-inch socket provides a secure head-to-handle connection.

Leonard Round-Point Closed-Back Shovels make any digging job easier. The closed-back design prevents soil buildup during use. Their black coating and flat surface make them extremely easy to clean.

We engineer these shovels for the toughest of jobs. The durable steel blades resist rust and corrosion. A notched handle end bends to conform to the curve of the handle. This bend supports the core through the neck of the shovel. Thru rivets maximize the strength of the head and handle connection. We back these tools with our lifetime warranty!

Customer Reviews for Leonard Round-Point Closed-Back Shovel with Ash Handle

3 Stars

Quality shovel but heavy

Arthur from VA wrote (April 07, 2018):

Nice quality shovel but significantly heavier than a "standard" shovel - so not very popular on our farm because of the weight

5 Stars

Great Shovel, Excellent Value

Ben W. from MI wrote (September 30, 2011):

Great shovel for the Landscaping Industry. When digging in compacted or heavy soil, it has enough mass to power through without being cumbersome. Sturdy with a good feel. My crews have not been able to destroy too many of these. Well worth the price for a shovel that can handle the abuse of hard, daily use.

3 Stars

Great Shovel Head, Weak Handle

from CT wrote (September 26, 2011):

Very satisfied with the business end of this shovel but unfortunately the crews seem to be breaking the handles too easily.

5 Stars

Good feel

D. Weber from LA wrote (September 23, 2011):

This shovel has a good feel to it - it's well balanced and sturdy. And the scoop holds a good amount of dirt without most of it falling off before landing where it's supposed to go.

4 Stars

Great product, hard working

Max from CT wrote (March 19, 2011):

We go through quite a few shovels along the way and these have really stood the test of time. They are durable and rarely have issues.
