Tried not to purchases this for quite some time because of the cost. Having finally used it I can say with certainty that for function and ease of use it’s fabulous! But come on. This should have been part of the spreader as opposed to an add on option. Being charged far to much for a necessary feature really bites! I love this thing but hate being gouged which is why a 5 Star product gets 4 Stars.
Unlike another reviewer experience, installation for me was straightforward with simple instructions. Overall, I hate having to pay so much for a much needed deflector shield when it should come standard for the price of A.M. Spreaders. Also, I paid extra money to get the all stainless steel version AM70S spreader, yet this deflector shield has a powder coated mounting bracket. So much for having a rustproof setup. For the price of this deflector shield, the mounting bracket should be stainless steel too.
After getting it installed it works well, instructions are not the best and be ready with the right tools. I consider myself pretty handy and it took some effort (and some cursing).
