The impulse head works generally fairly well. However, the two swiveling wire mechanisms that are used to limit the angle of watering coverage are flimsy and bend easily and when brought close together can become entangled together (as did mine). Considering the cost of this sprinkler, the angle adjustment should be more reliable and precise, as should be the flip lever. The various threaded fittings required disassembly and application of teflon tape in order to stop leaking at the fittings. This should be mentioned in the instructions. The directions state "the leg brace crimp keeps the legs in the open position", but this is not the case, there is no detent, making the sprinkler somewhat clumsy to move, and one can easily pinch a hand or finger in doing so.
