The classic, multi-purpose performer!

From handle to blade, we design our Leonard Traditional Bypass Pruners with you in mind. These pruners feature a durable forged-aluminum handle. We cover this handle with a non-slip grip in our signature orange color. The blades of our Traditional Bypass Pruners feature high-carbon steel construction with a chrome plating. The rear of the cut blade includes a built-in soft wire-cutting notch. An adjustable pivot bolt allows for precise blade contact.

Leonard Traditional Bypass Pruners combine maximum sharpness, durability, and safety into one fantastic tool. Chrome-plated steel blades retain their sharpness season after season. This plating resists corrosion, rust, and sap, making these pruners easy to clean. A responsive spring action ensures a smooth, crisp cut every time. The vinyl-coated handle gives you a non-slip grip during use. A pivot-locking mechanism keeps the tool secure when not in use.

Pick up a pair of our Traditional Bypass Pruners and find out why they are one of our most popular tools. Their lower price point, efficiency, and durability make them an excellent crew shear. We even cover this tool with our lifetime warranty!

Works only on perpendicular cuts wrote

I am often clearing trails and privet thickets and love having a pruner on my side to cut briar and other vines that make it difficult to pull out cut privet. I am also carrying the pruner on all my hikes to cut back vegetation from trails. I have to be careful to cut seedlings and branches 3/8" or thicker absolutely perpendicular, otherwise the part of the wood gets caught between blades and the pruner gets stuck.

Excellent For Professionals wrote

We have a large vineyard is Texas Hill Country and have been using Felco Model 2 hand pruners. I tried one pair of these instead when I needed another pair and found them to be close to the same, if not the same quality for half the price. I just placed an order for 3 more pair.

Best I have used wrote

I have been gardening a long time, have had a series of pruners. This is by far the most comfortable, sharp, and no annoyances, such as a locking device that tends to lock when you don’t want it to. It looks well made, hope it lasts forever.

Good blades wrote

Pruning apple trees, good cut quality and could cut as close as needed. Enclosed tool included to assist unlocking caused me to keep the package to not lose the tool. Spring does need to snap back into position more easily.

Much better than the Corona I owed. wrote

Had an old time Corona set that was heavy duty and bulletproof; also cost me a lot of money. Bought a pair of these and I love them. Heavier and more durable than my Corona, work great, comfortable grip.
