Council Tools Sledgehammers are ideal for driving stakes, striking chisels, stone, concrete, metal, wood, and more. This durable hammers are designed to deliver heavy blows with an efficient swinging motion.

The 8lb sledgehammer features a forged steel tool head. The striking faces are precision-machined with proper radius and chamfer for safe performance. After machining of the faces, the hammer head is heat-treated to increase the depth of hardness. A lacquer coating on the head prevents rust and weathering. This head is then equipped with a 34in fiberglass handle for enhanced durability. This "jacketed" style handle features an internal fiberglass rod and is shaped as a traditional wood handle. It is hydraulically seated and epoxy bonded to the bare metal eye, creating an extremely strong chemical and mechanical bond. Made in the USA!
