The one gardening tool you cannot do without!

We redesigned our Classic Soil Knife to make it even better! We make the blade of the Leonard Deluxe Soil Knife using high-quality stainless-steel. This 6-inch blade features an extended dual-cut serrated edge and a built-in twine-cutting notch. We etch depth markings directly onto the blade.

We equip the Leonard Deluxe Soil Knife with a comfortable, one-piece molded composite handle. This handle features a more rounded grip and a molded thumb rest. We also increased the diameter of the hook opening.

The Leonard Deluxe Stainless-Steel Soil Knife works well for nearly any task. Use it to plant bulbs, flowers, and herbs. Its razor-sharp edge cleanly slices through plant roots, weeds, twine, or plant ties. It also works well for dividing plants, digging up rocks, and cleaning out cracks in your sidewalk or pavement. The blade withstands over 300 pounds of pressure, so it stands up to nearly any task.

The Leonard Deluxe Soil Knife is the one gardening tool you cannot do without. Its extended dual-cut serrated edge gives you the sharpest edge possible. Etched inch markings ensure your plants and bulbs are planted at just the right depth. The built-in twine-cutting notch allows you to cut twine and plant markings without the need to switch tools. The one-piece molded handle provides a comfortable grip for all-day digging. We engineer this tool to give you years of use and back it with our lifetime warranty!

Protect your soil knife with an optional Leather Sheath. Save a little cash by purchasing both a knife and a sheath!

Can't work without it wrote

The woman I landscaped with 3 summers ago had the AM Leo deluxe knives as a part of the standard work kit. I quickly bought my own (in pink, so as not to confuse mine with hers) with the dual sheath (and Felco 2s) and have put a lot miles on it the last three summers. I find myself reaching for it even when it's not on me! (You know that impulse when you're visiting a garden...) This year the serrations started to wear a bit, so my dad did a little work on the knife to sharpen them as much as possible. I don't know why anybody would even bother getting with the knife minus serrations - they do 3/4 of the work. As far as I'm concerned, this is one of the most vital tools anybody in landscaping needs, whatever your capacity is. The plastic handle is far better than wood (yay, one less thing to have to oil or worry about spintering), and the blade is tough as nails. Nothing worse than using a trowel and watching the scoop bend like a weak spoon in hard ice cream... I've used it for: -planting (although, I've planted thousands of plugs and annuals with it and it's gotten hard on the nerves in my hands to use it for that so much and I've just switched to a plug/bulb planter) -scaring up rootbound plants -dislodging rocks -dividing perennials -pulling out weeds -cutting down daylilies, irises, grasses, etc. -squishing bugs :) -scratching what itches :) -pointing :) -drawing lines in the sand :) -looking tough when I worked downtown ;) -looking credible at the hardware store :) I can't work without it. I just bought another one (with the pruner and sheath) so whoever's giving me a hand has what they need to do the job. The durability and functionality of this knife has made it a great friend.

Absolutely essential garden tool. Had my eye on this for years. Great for planting out flowers, separating/dividing plants and trimming root balls. Sharp and strong. Loaned to a contractor installing pavers and sod in my yard. He loved it. I sent him home with a Leonard Catalog. Recommend purchasing the sheath as well. We've bought a second one because my wife and both seem to be using it constantly.

This is my new weapon in my battle against Black Swallow-wort. And the best by far! Gets down below the rhizome and cuts it out. Very well made and reasonably priced.
