They call it the King of Spades because frankly it is. The weight of the shovel alone cuts right thru soil. With a couple chops you can easily cut through a 3" cal. root as long as you keep a sharp edge on the head. The shovel can practically be used as a pry bar(digging bar) as well with the quality in which its forged. Definately would rate this shovel for heavy commercial use . Workers who have to dig will thank you. It make edging garden beds easy as well. You buy one , you keep it forever.
