These are the most amazing shears, forget buying ones for $20, this is defineatly worth the money and investment. My gardener LOVED them, and almost walked off with them.

Superior hedge shear

Having been in the green industry for twenty years, I appreciate a quality piece of craftsmanship. I use them everyday at work and in my own landscape. The durability is far superior than ordinary commercial shears.

No Match for Blue Oat Grass Clump

wrote ():

I use mine for perennials and heathers - light trims and all the way to the ground cut-backs. The true test was to cut an overgrown blue oat grass clump back to the ground which these shears did in a couple quick motions. The shears are ergonomic and well-adapted to shaping lower plants like heathers. This is a high quality tool that should last you a lifetime. If you appreciate good craftsmanship and a well designed product these are for you.

Used for 15 years

I'm a wholesale commercial grower and have purchased 10 pairs of Okatsune shears over the past 15 years and we are still using the first pair I ever purchased. They rarely need sharpening and are far ahead of any other shears we have ever tried. They are a little pricey, but worth it in the long run.

Okatsune hedge shear

This is our second one, as the first one was stolen. It is outstanding in its sharpness and precision. We use only hand tools in our work and this is nothing like shears bought at [another store] etc. We have not experienced the service at A.M. Leonard to match the shears. If it ever does we will have a winner.

Heavenly Shears

wrote ():

I bought the hedge shear, because I was not satisfied with the quality shearing of shrubs with my ordinary commercial hedge shears. Although I purchased the hedge shear on 10/25/10, I was able to use it in three distinctive gardening locations or uses. Our church was given a meditation garden memorial, I was able to smoothly/carefully trim the boxwoods that were planted. I maintain/water this sacred garden space. In my English garden I trimmed some new growth off my yews. In my daughter's 3.3 acres of landscaping that I have planted/maintained over the lasts 13 years, I fine tuned some of her yews and boxwoods so that they would aesthetically look nice during the late fall. I am looking forward to using my Okatsune shear as I trim/shape my azaleas in more of a Japanese garden aesthetic in the future. The Okatsune hedge shear works with little effort and makes the most perfect clean cut that I have ever seen.

Unparalleled Performance

I have used Okatsune Hedge Shears for 12 years as a professional gardener. They are superior to ANY other brands that I have used because of their incredible durability, clean cuts, ability to be effectively and professionally sharpened for consistent performance, and incredible 'reach' that assists when I'm cutting tall or short shrubs or hedges. I became an A.M Leonard customer when I became a porfessional gardener. These tools WORK, period. I have never been dissatisfied with a tool or an interaction that I have had with A.M Leonard. These are the perfect tools for a perfectionist like me.

Smooth as Silk

I've developed a "passion" for gardening, since I retired from teaching for 40 years. This Okatsune Hedge Shear has allowed me to fine shear cut box woods at my church's Mediation Garden, pruning my daughter's yews in her 3.3 acres of landscaping I've designed/planted, and pruning my yews/azaleas in my English Garden. The Okatsune Hedge Shear works smoothly and effortlessly when using in trimming. I've never had a hedge shear that cuts cleanly and with little effort!
