> 3 @ $ 41.99

Weight: 2.300000 lbs

The safe way to wipe out your weeds.

Easier than a hoe, safer than spraying. The wipe-on applicator puts herbicide where you need it: on the weeds and nowhere else! Patented design is economical, easy, and environmentally sound - even on the windiest days. With protective shield, 1 qt capacity. Ideal for applying Round-Up.

Specs

Handle length 53" and pad length 9". Capacity 1 quart, protective shield on pad can give pad partial exposure or can be removed for full exposure. Reversible clear plastic elbow allows for 180 degree rotation, 1/2" polyester nap wiper pad.

Product Features

Carry the Sideswipe with the pad elevated above the handle to help stop over-wetting the pad, which may cause dripping. A shut off valve (such as our 304so or so22 or 300so) can be added between the handle and the elbow to prevent dripping during storage or while carrying from one area to another. The elbow has hose threads for this purpose. Adding chemical to the water solution in the handle does not prevent dripping if the Sideswipe is carried without elevating the pad above the handle (per manufacturer).

Warranty

Manufacturer supplies a 90-day warranty.

So Disappointed

wrote ():

I really wanted this thing to work! But it just doesn't do what's intended. I poured some RoundUp into the handle and walked onto the driveway starting the motion like I would if I were using this in the yard (attempting to kill tall crab grass sprouted between new sod). As soon as I started the slow scythe motion the RoundUp ran out both ends of the brush. So I went and bought a 90-degree shut off valve and cut the handle and installed that as recommended. I'd soak the brush, then tip the handle upside down, shut the valve and swing it. But the brush dried out so fast that it couldn't even get a leaf of the crab grass wet with herbicide. I finally returned it. It might be ok in a field full of weeds where you don't care if it kills everything, but don't use it on your yard.

fragile elbow

The hard plastic elbow will break easily.
A.M. Leonard:We are not aware of these having a problem breaking, but of course if one does within the warranty period, the customer is welcome to contact us for a resolution.

Sideswipe applicator

This thing leaks like a sieve, even with an added shut-off. Bought a rope type-much better, no leaking and better coverage. Need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

    FAQ

What rate do I mix Roundup concentrate in my Sideswipe? Manufacturer recommends mixing Roundup concentrate at a 1:4 - 1:6 (1 part Roundup concentrate to 4-6 parts water) ratio for greatest effectiveness, depending on the type of plant. How do I keep my Sideswipe from dripping in between uses? Carry the Sideswipe with the pad elevated above the handle to help prevent over-wetting the pad. A shut off valve (such as our 55so) can be added between the handle and the elbow to prevent dripping during storage or while carrying from one area to another. The elbow has hose threads for this purpose.
